These are the ones I worked on while traveling, and I just finished them up on the 4th of July. It’s the same pattern as the yellow ones I made, with a few changes. Rather than just ribbing for the leg, I did something called a flagon stitch, which is like simple cables. And I adapted the toe so it wouldn’t end up quite as narrow.

A Few More Scarves

I find scarves to be very handy projects to do for long trips on the road, and given the amount of traveling we did during June, I ended up with more of those scarves that I’m running out of room to store! I already have a large shoebox and big sackful of them. But I guess I’ll be set for gifts come Christmas.

Socks at Last!

I’ve been traveling for most of the month of June, so I haven’t been able to update lately, but I have quite a few knitting projects completed.
The most prominent of these is my first pair of socks. They’re a crazy, bright yellow, using the new Lion Brand line of sock yarn. And they’re about as basic as you can get—but I was absolutely exhilarated when I finished.

Knitted Afghan

My knitting from the last month doesn’t look like a whole lot, but it includes my very first afghan, which I think is a bit of an accomplishment. I really enjoyed the pattern, because it was complex enough to remain interesting for the entirety, but at the same time, once I got the hang of it, it didn’t demand my full concentration. And I think it’s very pretty!
